Merel Schrijver is a first year Research Master student. Before starting the Research Master, she completed her bachelors in Psychology at Leiden University, where she developed an interest in developmental psychology. In January, Merel will start her internship and thesis in the Brain and Development Lab.

 

 

 

 

Jorien van Hoorn

Jorien van Hoorn is a second year Research Master student, and will start her internship and thesis in the Brain and Development lab in september 2011. She wil be working on the BrainTime project. During her bachelors in psychology she wrote her thesis on the reward system of patients with social anxiety disorder and gained her interest in both fMRI studies and developmental psychology.
 

 

 

 

Marthe de Jong

After receiving her BA degree in Educational Science, Marthe started studying Psychology at Leiden University in 2009. During the bachelor course Social-Emotional Development, Marthe became specifically interested in fMRI studies and the relationship between brain development and changes in psychological processes during adolescence. Currently, as a Honours Research Bachelor Student (2011-2012), she would like to increase her knowledge of the developing brain and the field of neuroscience and finish her BA degree in Psychology in the Brain and Development Lab.

 

Noortje van der Veeken

Noortje van der Veeken is a first year Master student Biomedical Sciences at Leiden University. During the third year of her Bachelor Biomedical Sciences she also started with a Bachelor study Psychology. Combining these studies, Noortje gained interest in the multidisciplinary field of Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience. As of December 2011, Noortje will start her internship in the Brain and Development lab under supervision of Jiska Peper.

 

 

Wouter van der Horst

Wouter van der Horst is a first year Master student Neurosciences at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Before this, he completed a bachelor in biomedical sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and the first year of the bachelor biology at Leiden University.
During these four years, he gained interest in courses concerning neuroanatomy, neurophysiology and behavioral aspects. Therefore he decided to expand his knowledge in this field by choosing the Master Neurosciences. As of February 2012, he will start his internship in the Brain and Development Lab, where he certainly will gain more insight in brain development and neuroimaging techniques.
